Un incontro nel backstage dell'Hollywood Bowl di Los Angeles ha permesso a Cash Jacobs di affrontare un passaggio delicato del proprio percorso di cura accanto alla sua artista preferita. Il 18 ottobre, dopo il concerto, Miley Cyrus ha impugnato un rasoio elettrico e ha aiutato la giovane fan a tagliare i capelli. La scena è stata ripresa in un filmato successivamente pubblicato sui social.
Cash ha ricevuto una diagnosi di tumore al seno al terzo stadio. Prima di iniziare la chemioterapia aveva deciso di anticipare la possibile perdita dei capelli, trasformando quel momento in un'esperienza da condividere con la cantante che segue da anni. Per raggiungerla aveva pubblicato un appello su TikTok, chiedendo agli utenti di aiutarla a far arrivare il messaggio a Miley e al suo staff.
La richiesta aveva ottenuto rapidamente visibilità, fino a raggiungere l'entourage della popstar americana. Il primo tentativo di organizzare l'incontro non era però andato a buon fine. Cash ha successivamente ricevuto una nuova opportunità, con un invito a tornare a Los Angeles in occasione della seconda serata della cantante all'Hollywood Bowl, in programma il 18 ottobre.
Questa volta l'incontro si è concretizzato. Miley Cyrus, 33 anni, ha accolto la ragazza dietro le quinte e ha accettato di partecipare personalmente al taglio. Nel video le due conversano mentre la cantante passa il rasoio sulla testa di Cash, accompagnando il gesto con battute, sorrisi e complimenti per il nuovo aspetto della giovane.

Finding out I had breast cancer, getting a port put in my chest and starting chemo was hard enough as it is. Never mind the side effects I’d soon be facing from the chemo. Her music has always lifted me in some of the hardest times of my life. And when they pass, I can listen to her songs and be reminded that I got through it and came out stronger. Between major depressive episodes and finding out I have stage 3 breast cancer. I am lucky enough to have reached her and her team and been given this opportunity of a lifetime. And that’s not to be said without thanking the power of the internet and all the people that helped me make this wish come true. UNREAL. Miley is the softest, coolest, KINDEST, and most genuine human being I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting and spending time with. And not to mention her SHAVING MY F***ING HEAD!!!!! WHAT?!?
