NXT Gold Rush  del 18 novembre si è svolto al  The Theater at Madison Square Garden  di New York e ha presentato un altro grande match titolato per la divisione di coppia. I  DarkState  hanno messo in palio le cinture contro  Leon Slater  e  Je’Von Evans. Si trattava della prima difesa dei campioni dopo la vittoria del 25 ottobre scorso a  NXT Halloween Havoc, quando  Dion Lennox  e  Osiris Griffin  avevano sconfitto i  Broken Hardys  in un  Broken Rules Match  per conquistare i titoli.
