Allo Scottish Open del Renaissance Club, nel North Berwick, è una gran bella giornata per Rory McIlroy. Il nordirlandese, già vincitore due anni fa, torna alla caccia del bersaglio grosso e, grazie al -4 di giornata, raggiunge in testa a -11 l’americano Chris Gotterup. In breve, è gran battaglia nel torneo che storicamente precede l’Open Championship, alla sua settima edizione consecutiva al Renaissance (il terzo campo più frequentato dopo Loch Lomond e Gleneagles).
